Abstract
Objective: To compare the cycle outcome of single and double intrauterine insemination (IUI) following controlled ovulation induction (COH).
Material and methods: One hundred twenty patients having ovulation induction with recFSH (Puregon, Organon) therapy prospectively evaluated; the patients in group 1 (60 patients) underwent single IUI , 36 hours after the administration of hCG (10,000 IU, Pregnyl, Organon) and the patients in group 2 (60 patients) underwent double IUI, 18 hours and 36 hours after the administration of hCG. Clinical pregnancy rates were compared between the groups.
Results: There was no difference between the groups in terms of dominant follicle number on the hCG day (2.1 in group 1 and 1.8 in group 2; p>0.05). There was no significant difference with respect to the clinical pregnancy rates in both groups (13.4% in group 1 and 16.6% in group 2; p>0.05)
