Serdal Güngör*, Özgü Suna Celiloğlu**, Sabiha Güngör*, Can Celiloğlu*** . Abstract | | | |
Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE), is a progressive, fatal disease of the central nervous system leading to severe and chronic neurologic damage following measles virus infection. Diagnosis is based on the typical clinical findings and elevated titers of antibodies against measles virus in the cerebrospinal fluid. Unusual clinical pictures are not unusual during the course of SSPE. Pseudotumor cerebri is characterized by raised intracranial pressure findings in the absence of obvious cranial pathology. Here we report two cases, diagnosed as SSPE with pseudotumor cerebri.
Key Words: Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis; Pseudotumor Cerebri; Papilla Stasis.
