Detecting psychotic symptoms of childhood onset is closely related to psychopathology and may be a sign of a psychotic disorder. Psychotic disorders seen in children and youths may include schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar affective disorder. Differential diagnosis of psychotic disorders seen in children is a difficult and time consuming process when the developmental aspects of childhood and adolescence have been considered. In this paper, we will share the course of the disorder and discuss the differential diagnoses in a 12 years-old boy admitted to our clinic with psychotic symptoms that have begun at 8-years of his age.
