Papillary fibroelastomas are primary cardiac tumors that are rarely seen. They are usually seen between 50 and 80 years of age. They are mostly small sized benign tumors that do not contain vascular structures. Due to their papillary projections, these tumors are likened to the sea anemone. Frequently, they are located on the aortic and mitral valves. There are very few cases originating from the interatriyal septum. They are usually asymptomatic but they carry the risk of systemic and pulmonary embolus. Routine echocardiographic management is used for diagnosis. Urgent surgical intervention is necessary especially in patients with oversized or symptomatic tumors. In this report, we present the case of a 57-year-old male patient who underwent coronary bypass surgery due to coronary artery disease with a 34x25mm sized papillary fibroelastoma on the interatrial septum.
