Biodiesel was produced by the transesterification reaction of palm kernel oil (PKO) and methanol catalysed by crushed cashew nut shaft (CCNS). Biodiesel samples GA1 GA4 were produced by the reaction of the palm kernel oil and methanol using cashew nut shell and NaOH as catalyst. After purification, the physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic data of the four samples were found to be similar and compare favourably well to those of standard biodiesel.
