Objective: To evaluate the patient safety skills among nursing students in various academic settings.
Methodology: In this cross-sectional study, data were gathered from 320 university nursing students from September 2023 until February 2024 through Health Professional Education in Patient Safety Survey.
Results: There was a relation between patient safety awareness and GPA scores of the students (p=0.024). Clinical safety issues and understanding human & environmental factors were the highest safety domains (3.92±0.67), (3.91±0.52). There was a statistically significant difference between the classroom and clinical setting in risk management domain (p=0.033).
Conclusion: For safe and effective patient care, nursing students should acquire the necessary competencies to navigate complex clinical environments and contribute to positive patient outcomes.
