A survey of zoonotic gastrointestinal parasites of dogs was conducted in Zaria, Nigeria; out of the two hundred and twenty four (224) fecal and gastrointestinal content collected and analyzed, 76 (33.93%) samples were positive. Isospora spp 12(11.9%) and 19(19%) was the highest in samples from Streets - Residential areas and Small Animal Clinic respectively. Toxocara canis 4(17.3%) recorded highest in samples of gastrointestinal content from dogs Slaughtering houses. Other zoonotic parasites encountered were; Ancylostoma caninium, Dipylidium caninium and Taenia spp. The study revealed that zoonotic gastrointestinal parasites of dogs are endemic in Zaria environment.
