The present study has been conducted in order to standardize the Jawarish Safarjali Qabiz a poly pharmaceutical drug, used in Unani System of Medicine. The different parameters used for standardization are : determination of bulk density, water and alcohol soluble contents, total ash, pH of water soluble part, volatile oil content, extractive values in different solvents, total fat present its saponification, iodine and acid values and chromatographic studies. Quantitative estimation of phosphate, alkaloids, total nitrogen, tannin, resin and crude fibre contents were also carried out.
