An investigation of Inula racemosa afforded, in addition to four known sesquiterpene lactones, a new epoxy alantolactone isolated from Inula racemosa. Their structures have been characterized using different spectral data and chemical correlation. Key words: Inula racemosa, Compositeae, Lactones, GC MS analysis.
