Production of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) and mullet (Mugil cephalus) as affected with dietary protein source in polyculture system was compared. Four experimental diets were formulated to contain (25.3±0.16) crude protein. Diet 1 was free from soybean meal, while fish meal was replaced at 50, 75 and 100 % levels with soybean meal in diets 2, 3 and 4, respectively. The dietary treatments were carried out in 4 earthen ponds each of total area of 5 feddans (2.1 ha). The diets were offered at 3% rate of body weight (B.W), at two times a day.
