Obesity consequences and prevention; a review

Abstract

Obesity is a chronic medical condition that is increasing in prevalence. Obesity can result in several complications through metabolic and anatomical impacts. The management of obesity is necessary; however, in the case of complex treatment, prevention is another solution for obesity. Hence, this study aimed to overview the consequences and prevention of obesity. Searching for relevant articles was the first step in writing this review. Searching was through scientific databases using a different set of keywords. The included articles were those focusing on the current subject and written in the English language. The obtained articles were selected based on inclusion criteria and the subject was discussed under two major titles. This study’s findings determined that obesity is associated with various health consensuses and it has a negative influence on quality of life. Therefore, prevention is a crucial strategy, including exercise and a balanced diet.
