Venous flap for immediate reconstruction of finger soft tissue defect

Different techniques are described for soft tissue defect of the hand fingers. Venous flap is a new technique for soft tissue defect reconstruction. Author also described new techniques for finger soft tissue reconstruction with venous flap previously. 64-year-old man admitted to our clinic due to right hand injury with electrical saw. He had ring and middle fingers distal phalanx bone fractures with middle finger dorsal distal phalanx bone and soft tissue lost. Bone fractures were stabilized with Kirschner wire. Author decided to repair of middle finger soft tissue defect with unipedicled distally based venous flap. Flap was planned on dorsum of the right hand. Finger healed uneventfully. Evaluations of functional and cosmetic results were good in the follow up. Finger soft tissue injury was treated immediately with unipedicled distally based venous flap is presented here. Best of outhor knowledge, this is the first case report for immediate soft tissue reconstruction of the finger with unipedicled distally based venous flap.
