Relationship of cardiovascular disease and depression

Abstract
Coronary artery disease and depression are accepted as a growing health epidemic. The association of both disease should draw attention of physician in routine practice. The increase of awareness of this association should provide agressive aproach in terms of lessening the poor prognosis, increasing life quality and preventive manners. Although it is frequently neglected in routine practice physisician should know that additive effect of both disease lead to a poor prognosis in terms of morbidity and mortality. However depression as a risk factors, the cause-result effects and routine screening/treatment issue need to be clarified. In this review we would like to discuss and summarise the related studies on this relationship of coronary artery disease and depression.
