One of the largest health issues in the modern world is obesity. Obesity is linked to a number of lifestyle diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension, and inflammation/asthma. It has been proven that one of the causes of obesity and obesity-related complications including inflammation is altered microbial composition. As with obesity, an increase in inflammatory indicators like IL-6, IL-1 beta, IL-10, and TNF alpha encourages the development of inflammatory signs like asthma. High levels of leptin, which serve as an indicator of obesity and control a number of pulmonary functions including FEV1, FVC, and the FEV1/FVC ratio, are seen in obese people. Yoga, Ayurveda, homoeopathy, and Siddha medicine are examples of complementary and alternative medicines (CAM) that encourage the growth of probiotic beneficial bacteria like Bifidobacteria, Lactobacillus, Roseburia, and Lachonospirae and inhibit the growth of pathogenic opportunistic bacteria, which causes inflammation/asthma.
