“A clinical study to evaluate the Chakshushya effect of Aamlakyadi Gana in the management of Timira w.s.r. to Myopia”

Abstract

Myopia is a very common ocular abnormality. Due to the significance of myopia as a global public health concern, it was chosen as a priority for vision 2020- the world health organization global initiative for the elimination of avoidable blindness by the year 2020. Various methods have been employed in an attempt to decrease the progression of myopia. The researches in Ayurveda are being carried out in different institutions all over India with special attention to Timira and also to myopia. The present study is a step forward in that direction to find out the remedial measure for this problem with the topic entitled “A clinical study to evaluate the Chakshushya effect of Aamlakyadi Gana in the management of Timira w.s.r. to Myopia”.
Methods- The patients for this study were selected from OPD/IPD of Shalakya tantra department R.G.G.P.G.Ayu. College and Hospital, Paprola, H.P, were randomly selected and grouped in two, where Group I received Starch powder and Group II received Aamlakyadi Gana for a period of 12 weeks.
