Randomized Clinical Trial of Kshar Vasti in the Management of Amavata (Rheumatoid Arthritis)

Abstract
1. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of Kshar Vasti in Amavata w.s.r. Rheumatoid Arthritis. Methodology: Total 66 patients were randomly divided into two groups having 33 patients in each group. In group I (Kshar Vasti) 29 patients and Group II (Control group) 28 patients completed all the three follow ups. Result: In Group I good improvement (62.0%)), moderate improvement (20.7%), and unchanged or none (17.2%) was observed. In Group II good improvement (28.6%), moderate improvement (53.6%), and unchanged or none (17.8%) was observed. Conclusion: In this study Kshar Vasti is comparable to Tab. Nucoxia -90. Both the groups showed significant relief in joints and muscular pain but Kshar Vasti group showed better improvement in most of symptoms.
