Abstract
The world of sports is fascinating, but not devoid of injuries. Numerous injuries are observed with varying intensity and these injuries at times may pose a serious risk and may also lead to career termination. The sports medicine personnel are incessantly working to devise protocols to prevent such injuries as well as for the early rehabilitation of an injured athlete. The growing body of research suggests that along with physical rehabilitation, psychological variables also play an important role for the desired outcomes. Thus there is a strong need to incorporate psychological interventions for optimal rehabilitation outcome.
