Our hand surgery running which started 20 years ago by the effect of pain treatment on hand surgery has been maintained through the continuously advancing medicine and anesthesia science. Positive effects of regional anesthesia on circulation system, ischemia-reperfusion injury, blood viscosity, balances changing as a result of cellular and hormonal responses against stress have become our uphills and downhills. At the end of this running, apoptosis has met us. In this paper, we are sharing the story of this pleasant but also exhausting running.
