The growing importance of telecommunication to the economy and society in Nigeria

Abstract

The telecommunication industry in Nigeria has risen from being slow and sluggish to becoming a fast and a growing one. Comparing with the past, this growth and development is accelerated growth. The benefits of this growth are awesome specifically to the government, organization, and institutions as well as to the people in general. This paper examines the growth of the telecommunication industry while outlining the economic gains which greatly contributed to the country being ranked the biggest economy in Africa as well as the benefits to the society. The society is constantly attesting to the enormous benefits of telecommunication and hoping for more improvement as well as advancement and research to solving more problems as we face fresh challenges from day today.
