Unemployment is the main reason for rent economies in Turkey, but it is al so the rent economics itself that fosters the unemployment problem by reducing the re-investment ratios. Inflation is the inevitable outcome of rent economics. Government should aim to remove unemployment, rather that to develop anti inflationary policies in order to cope with the rent economies. Liberalization policies, to a certain extent, may help to eliminate some sort of scarcity rents but they should be supported by public investments especially in the fields of health, education, infrastructure and energy.
