This article analyses evolution (development) of the industrialization and the situation of the waged work in Salonica at the end of 19th century. Salonica was a very important city of the Ottoman Empire which was experiencing important inustrial developments during 1870's and 1880, tended to increase its available capacity in 1890's. As a result of industrialization, the structure of labor force of the city began to change in favor of industry and women became an important part of the wage earners.
