THE ROLE OF SECTORAL FOREIGN TRADE COMPANIES IN THE ECONOMIC APERTURA OF SME\'s AND IMPLEMENTATIONS IN THE TEXTILE AND CLOTHING SECTORS

Approximately 98 percent of business enterprises in Turkey is composed of small and medium sized business companies. Following the start of Custom's Union, the competition thread for these companies has increased and thus export has been a vital opportunity for them. The small capacity limited technological knowledge financial resource scarcity and lack of experience in foreign markets are the common denominators of these companies preventing them to market abroad. "Sectorial Foreign Trade Companies" may be considered an efficient and effective way to overcome these handicaps and some other difficulties. In this article, the general historical and legal developments of Sectoral Foreign Trade Companies in Turkey are examined and the situation related to Textile and Clothing lndustry is specified.
