Background: Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is a frequent complication of diabetes mellitus and a common cause of foot ulcers and non-traumatic lower limb amputations. The duration of diabetes increases the likelihood of developing DPN, and many individuals have subclinical neuropathy without any symptoms. Electrophysiological assessment of nerve conduction is a simple, objective, and easily reproducible technique to detect DPN and to assess its progression with diabetes duration.
Aims and Objectives: This study was done to determine the effect of Type 2 diabetes duration on nerve conduction velocity and amplitude.
Materials and Methods: A total of 40 patients with Type 2 diabetes were chosen for the study.
