Quality of life of stroke patients in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan

Abstract
Objective: To determine quality of life of stroke patients in Rawalpindi and Islamabad by using Stroke Specific Quality of Life scale.
Methodology: Stroke survivors with 35 to 65 years of age with duration of stroke between 3 months to 6 months were included in the study. The study used non-probability convenient sampling to recruit 72 respondents out of which 59 were included based on inclusion criteria.
Results: Most of the stroke patients had compromised quality of life. The mean and standard deviation for SS-QOL score was 141.8±30.2.
Conclusion: The onset of stroke significantly affected quality of life in its survivor.
