Aerides is an epiphytic orchid that is commercially accessible as one of the prospective therapeutic orchids. The goal of this review article is to examine data from the past 10 years of land distribution and signaling of Aerides, as well as their current research methods and process progress, endophytic variations, disease profiles, and various programs, and to discuss the needs, challenges, and future vision. Aerides has been found in Southeast Asia, including Papua New Guinea, Manipur, Uttarakhand, West Bengal’s, Arunachal Pradesh, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Phylogenetic analysis of Aerides odorata employing (phylogenetic analysis using parsimony) v4.0b10 (genetic algorithm for rapid likelihood inference) v.0.942, seed germination and seedling growth, hybridization procedures, co-ordination methods, and high-intensity plant regeneration systems are found as major frontier research areas. A. odorata contains a variety of fungi, including mycorrhizae and non-mycorrhizae. Antimicrobial efficacy, antioxidant activity, natural medicinal molecules, and therapies with anti-cancer properties have all been presented. In addition, we reviewed the latest biostrategies and bioengineered technologies paired with omics for the construction of new metabolites. In conclusion, the state of significant A. odorata and their economic worth are discussed, along with recommendations for exploiting the abundant bioresources and transforming them into economic goods.

Key words: Aerides, Applications, Diversity, Disease, Endophytes, Natural compounds
