Introduction: The nutrition counseling service program for patients at the Meuraxa District General Hospital in Banda Aceh has never been evaluated. Many studies say the evaluation of nutritional counseling for patients is very necessary because it relates to aspects of the top priority including the attitude of the counselor, material, methods, media, and time of counseling services. Objective: To analyze what is the patient's perception of nutrition counseling services in the Inpatient Room of the Meuraxa District General Hospital in Banda Aceh. Method: A quantitative method with a descriptive observational design was used in this study at the Meuraxa Hospital in Banda Aceh, which was conducted from October to December 2019. All inpatients who had received nutritional counseling became the population by involving 40 samples. To collect data, a series of questionnaires, observations, and in-depth interviews were conducted with 40 patients. After collecting data, the analysis was carried out by cross-tabulation, in the form of a table, and analyzed descriptively. Results: The patient's perception of the counselor is in good category (95%) with indicators of being friendly, polite behavior, and attractive appearance. The perception of the material presented is in a good category (100%). The indicators are easy to understand, supported by the patient's family and relatives. The perception of the method used in delivering counseling in the category of good (97.5%). An indicator is a patient-centered approach by fostering interactive and persuasive communication. The perception of the media used when implementing nutritional counseling is not good (72.5%). The media used in nutrition counseling activities is a nutrition booklet. The indicator of nutrition booklet is still not effective because it is still difficult for patients to understand. Perception of counseling time most patients have a good perception (80%). The indicator of counselor visits ranges from 1 to two times during the patient being treated. The time used when counseling some patients to feel the time given is still insufficient. Conclusion: Most of the patients in the Inpatient Room of Meuraxa Hospital in Banda Aceh had a good perception of the counselor, counseling material, counseling method, and counseling time. The perception of counseling media is in a bad category.
