Abdulrahman Beshi Hakami, Adel Mohd Alhazmi.

Abstract

Fractures of the capitellum, particularly coronal shear fractures, are difficult to manage. For coronal shear fracture of capitellum, the surgical approaches include the lateral approach and anterolateral approach to the elbow joint. Herein, we reviewed the recent literature about lateral against anterolateral approaches by Herbert screw fixation for humeral capitellum isolated coronal shear fractures. A web-based article search by different databases like Directory of Open Access Journals, PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, Embase, and Cochrane electronic databases was done.

Key words: Lateral Approach, Anterolateral Approach, Herbert Screw Fixation, Coronal Shear Fractures, Humeral Capitellum.
