Evaluation of Primary School First Grade Life Studies Books

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the primary school first grade Life Studies Teachers Supplementary Book and Student Books prepared by Ministry of National Education (MoNE) according to some criteria. Experts opinions from different areas in Faculty of Educational Sciences were taken by a group of 21 people. The research data was analyzed by document analysis. The results showed that there were many language and expression problems, some expressions and visuals in student books were not appropriate for the target groups developmental level and there were some negative hidden messages. Also, it was found that some activities and visuals were not appropriate in terms of learning and teaching theories. These results should be taken into consideration by MoNE.
