Adaptation of Motivational, Cognitive and Metacognitive Competencies Invertory/Scale to Turkish

Abstract

The aim of this study is to perform the study of adaptation to Turkish of “motivational, cognitive, and metacognitive competence scale” (MCMCS) developed by Mok, Fan and Pang (2007) to determine the motivational, cognitive, and metacognitive competence of the students. This scale was applied on preservice teachers students reading at an faculty of education, 2nd grade students at a central elementary school and high school students in Aydın Province. In this study, factor analysis studies were performed, and as a result of this, it was found that the scale consisted of 6 factors and the reliability coefficient was varied between .70 and .77.
