Evaluation of the Health Screening on Students in the First Year of Primary School: Example of Bolu Province

ABSTRACT
Objectives: : The aim of the current study is to analyze some of the health parameters and to emphasize the importance of general health examination for early identification and resolution of health problem in first year students attending elementary schools in our province
Materials and methods: This descriptive study was performed on Bolu city center and central villages all first grade students in primary schools in the 2010 – 2011 academic year. It was evaluated that family physician were performed check-up examinations on the basis of student health examination form in the family health centers.
Results: Students participating in the study 50.9% boy and 49.1% 'u girl. Of the students in the study of 2.4% strabismus, 3.7% decrease in visual acuity in eyes, 2.7% ear plug, 2.4% asthma, 0.9% of undescended testes were detected. Of the students 20.1% blood pressure, 8.7% weight, 10% height, 6.1% the number of dental caries, 3% visual acuity values were missing.
