The Instrument for Determining the Views of Primary School Students about Scientific Knowledge

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to develop a reliable and valid instrument in order to determine the primary school students views about scientific knowledge. A total of 505 students of 6th, 7th and 8th grades from 7 different primary schools were participated in the study. It was identified that the instrument was composed of totally 16 items with three factors namely, scientific knowledge is closed (8 items), scientific knowledge is justified (5 items) and scientific knowledge may change (3 items) and the whole instrument has a reliability coefficient of cronbach α=0.83. At the same time, this instrument is also the first original instrument developed for determining the primary school students views about scientific knowledge in our country.
