Abstract
Teachers views in relation to the newly implemented primary 4th grade social sciences curriculum have been analyzed in this study. While the 4th grade social sciences course teachers currently working in the primary schools in the city of Afyon make up the research population, voluntary 23 teachers compose the research sample of this study. In the light of teachers views, the new curriculum necessitates a prolonged adaptation period and well-planned in-service education. The biggest obstacle for teachers was to carry out appropriate means of measurement and evaluation for the program. Insufficient physical infrastructure and overpopulated classrooms are also the most noted barriers to the implementation of the new curriculum.
