Primary School Student's Misconceptions About "Units": Example of Mass and Weight

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assign the misconceptions concerning the mass and weight units. The study also aims to investigate how the students form these concepts according to their grade (6.,7.and 8.class).A conceptual test containing multiple choice and open ended questions was prepared and data which was obtained from this test was evaluated according to student's grade. The results of this study revealed that the students in primary level have some misconceptions about the units of mass and weight concepts.
