A Study on Perception of Communication Skills Of Preservice Teachers

Abstract

This study was carried out in pre-service teachers attending to Department of Elementary Education, Classroom Teacher/teaching Division in Hacettepe University. In this study, it was investigated whether pre-service teachersÂ’ perceptions of communication skills level differ in terms of their gender and grade level. The study was carried out on 592 preservice teachers including 468 female and 124 male students. According to results of the study, the perception of communication skills of pre-service teachers are high. It was found that there is no difference in their perception level in terms of their gender. There was found a significant difference between the grade 1 and grade 4 pre-service teachers in terms of their perceptions of communication skills.
