The transposition of organs to the opposite side of the body characterizes situs inversus totalis (SIT), a rare congenital anomaly. In this context, lithiasic cholecystitis is of atypical clinical expression and laparoscopic cholecystectomy, subject of few publications, requires a gestural and visual reorientation towards the left hypochondrium. Thus, we report a new case of laparoscopic cholecystectomy for lithiasic cholecystitis complicated by acute pancreatitis on complete situs inversus with review of the literature.

Key words: Situs inversus totalis, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, lithiasic cholecystitis
