Amitriptyline is an antidepressant that has long been used in psychiatry. This study presents a 40-year-old female single patient treated alcohol addiction, alcohol withdrawal delirium and multiple substance use with amitriptyline. Antidepressants are often used both in primary health care clinics and also in many clinical departments. This case suggests that more attention should be paid when prescribing medicine for patients who have a history of substance use.
