Comorbidity of Anxiety Disorders in Schizophrenia

Abstract

Anxiety disorder comorbidity is frequently seen in schizophrenia and plays an important role in poor outcome and intensıfication of symptoms. In insufficient response to treatment and worsening of symptoms, comorbid anxiety should be investigated. Comorbid Obsessive compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder and panic disorder, social anxiety disorder are reported more than estimated rates in schizophrenia. In exacerbation of symptoms and inadequate response to treatment, anxiety disorder spectrum should be investigated.
