Background: Chronic pelvic pain (CPP) in females refers to the non-cyclic and persistent pain perceived to be in the structure related to the pelvis. The prevalence of CPP varies among different populations. There is a lack of studies conducted on the prevalence of CPP among women and its associated conditions. It is important to identify the range of prevalence and the possible conditions associated with such pain to overcome CPP among women. The aim of this is was to overview the prevalence of CPP and its associated conditions among women.
Methods: We obtained the articles included in this review through online research for articles related to the current subject. The researching process involved searching through scientific websites using several keywords to obtain all possible articles related to the current subject.
Results: We obtained articles by reviewing the title of the article, the abstract, and the main titles inside the articles; then, according to inclusion criteria, only eight articles were included in this review, and 20 articles were excluded.
Conclusion: There was a variation in the prevalence of CPP among women. Associated conditions of CPP in women included some psychiatric disorders and some somatic disorders.
