Background: Rhinosinusitis is an inflammation of the nose and paranasal sinuses defined by two or more of the following symptoms: nasal obstruction/blockage/congestion, nasal discharge, facial pain/pressure, or loss of smell. Computed tomography (CT) is considered a preoperative requirement for creating an intraoperative road map.
Aim: To study the correlation between diagnostic parameters and surgical findings in patients undergoing functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) for chronic sinusitis.
Methods: Patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with or without nasal polyposis undergoing FESS were chosen from the otorhinolaryngology and head and neck outpatient departments at Dr D. Y Patil Hospital between September 2019 and August 2021. This is a prospective study including 30 patients who underwent preoperative CT and radiological evaluations and was endorsed for FESS.

Key words: Chronic Rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps, pre-operative CT, Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
