Abstract

Wound healing is one of the most im[H>rtant subjects in surgery. The process of wound healing is affected by nutritional factors, circulation, oxygen supply, infection and hormones. Wounds are classified as to their appearance and type of healing and treatment is directed according to these properties. Efforts should be maintained to prevent local and systemic factors that impair the inflammatory reaction. Antibiotics can be used in prophylactic or therapeutic aspects.
