The investigation of articles about health in three newspaper which have the largest circulation

Abstract


 

In this study which was carried out in Malatya during May 1993, articles about health in three newspaper which have the largest circulation in Turkey were gathered and were researched both on (heir shapes and contents. It was established that 57 % of the health articles in the news/tapers were illustrated, 30 % were written as abstract or synopsis of the matter. The articles about health on the first and last passes of the newspapers showed variation as to subject and no source was given for 53 %. It has been determined that by content, ? % of the health articles were correct, ~-H % of them were exaggerated and 3.9 % were completely false. ¡Journal of Turgut Özal Medical Center 1(2): 132-140 ,1994/
