Abstract

The reconstruction of eyebrow defects with respect to its natural texture is important in terms of aesthetic features of face. Despite various graft and flap techniques that were described for this purpose, there is not a consensus about the ideal reconstruction method. In this study, an eyebrow reconstruction was performed using supraorbital artery island flap where the hairy skin island was carried on a 24 year-old man who had a defect on his right eyebrow due to a traffic accident. No complication was observed in his follow-up for 10 months. A natural eyebrow appearance was obtained about eyebrow thickness, hair density and the direction of hair. It can be considered as an alternative method for eyebrow reconstruction due to its advantages of being single stage, simple and safe flap, concealing the donor site scar, which is minimal and hidden at the hairline, and satisfactory aesthetic outcomes.

Key Words: Supraorbital Artery; Island Flap; Eyebrow Reconstruction.
